November 5-8, 2024 – Days of General Toshevo. City holiday – November 8.

Exhibitions, competitions, concerts, culinary show – meatball festival, ceremonial lighting. The folklore ensemble “Dobrudzha” and the group “The Foundation” participated in the concerts. Creative workshops were held for children. A ceremonial meeting was also held with representatives of neighboring municipalities, as well as guests from the city of Murfatlar.

Dobrudzha Folklore Festival “Bogorodica”

On August 24 and 25, the XXV Dobrudzha Folklore Festival “Bogorodica” was held at the “White Swallow” square in General Toshevo. The two-day event was attended by 57 folklore groups, 6 duets and 45 individual performers from the districts of Varna, Silistra, Shumen, Ruse and Dobrich, as well as guests from Ukraine and Romania. The festival consolidated its position as the largest cultural event in the municipality, building a bridge between generations.

Enyovo Folklore Festival of Clans and Traditions “By the Dryan Dam”

On June 23, by the Dryan Dam, the eleventh edition of the Enyovo Folklore Festival of Clans and Traditions was held. Hundreds of guests gathered to celebrate the living Dobrudja customs with songs, dances and ancestral memory. The festival brought together 25 amateur, 27 individual and 7 dance groups from the Dobrich and Varna regions, and special guests brought more color to the stage. Open lessons in folk singing and dancing were held. 

October 23-24, 2020 – Seminar

October 23-24, 2020 – Seminar: “Intangible cultural heritage – preservation, promotion, development and opportunities for organizing festival and event tourism” in General Toshevo. Total number of participants: 35 people

Thematic Summer Camp – “Traditional Folk Crafts and Intangible Cultural Heritage – Traditions and Customs”

During the thematic camps, exhibitions were organized and a film was made for each camp.
A competition is announced: “Cultural and Natural Heritage of Dobrudja”.
Camp participants can:
– to create a poster, drawing or multimedia presentation
– Photos, video of sites and landmarks of the region, or events and activities during camp.
The exhibition will be exhibited during the next project events – seminar and tourist forum. The best performing students will be invited to participate in the tourist forums and awarded.

Youth Round Table “Shared heritage” in Murfatlar, organized on 3rd of May 2019

The Youth Round Table “Shared heritage” in Murfatlar, organized 3rd of May 2019 was organized in Murfatlar, and 35 participants attended the event, out of which 30 young people from General Toshevo and Murfatlar, 15 from each partner, and 2 teachers accompanying them. One speaker animated and stimulated participation based on his presentation “10 bridges between Romania and Bulgaria: their influence in the cross-border area Murfatlar – General Toshevo and their tourist value”. The presentation was delivered by one of the contracted speakers, Mr. Marian Covlea. participants’ general satisfaction with the information received, activities of the event and organisation. Information and communication materials were distributed to participants (including the printed event presentations and notebooks placed in cardboards, ball-point pens, hats, and T-shirts).

“Presentation of the goals and activities of the project and contemporary trends for the development of tourism and the popularization of the cultural and historical and natural heritage”.

The event were targeting young people from the two partner towns, General Toshevo and Murfatlar. The event included presentations of the project, technical presentations on the very topic of the event, for the role young people may play further in the project, an active participation of the participants, debates and sharing of ideas and thoughts. 32 participants attended the event, out of which 30 young people from General Toshevo and Murfatlar, 15 from each partner, and 2 teachers accompanying them.
The presentation was delivered by one of the contracted speakers, Mr. Krasen Rusev. participants’ general satisfaction with the information received, activities of the event and organisation.
Information and communication materials were distributed to participants (including the printed event presentations and notebooks placed in cardboards, ball-point pens, hats, and T-shirts).
